Leon's Girl

Leon's Girl
Well, as with most of the computer and technological advances in the past 10 years, I have been dragged into the 21st century by my sister. Yes, it's me, the other sister, signing in. I intend to post a pic of my latest prayer shawl asap. I have been sidelined by a bad fall this past week so I have spent a long time in the recliner crocheting. I am a member of several Yahoo Groups, a couple of which deal with the Prayer Shawl ministry and an offshoot begun by one of the founders of that group - the prayer cloth ministry which is focusing a portion of the cloths to the soldiers overseas. It's a great ministry and I have been blessed by the ladies (and a couple of gentlemen) of the groups. I'll post the links soon. -- Elaine

Cozi Shawl

Yeah, I really call this my sick shawl. I broke it in this past week during a horrid head cold. It worked so well, I'm doing an aphgan in the same pattern. It's hard to see the detail but it's basically double crochet chain 1 - in super soft fuzzy yarn I got in the Hobby Lobby sale bin.

Another Bag

This little bag is thread crochet - something I just had to do but don't want a steady diet of thread crochet in my life. I just had to add beads to something and that's what I did here. Very fine Senso cotton in denim color with added seed beads (we're talking 8's!!) and that's all of that I could stand of that for a while. I love the results, however.

Some Crochet Work

Here is a purse that I made in a weekend. I got the pattern from my new Stich 'n B***ch Crochet book. I used Lion Cotton and also used a flower pattern from another project in the book to make the attached flower.

Hello!

Welcome ! Are you crafty? You might find some ideas here. My sister and I had a Jewelry and Gift business named Leon's Girl, but alas this competitive business got the best of us. I hope you will enjoy visiting here. Elaine has gotten me back into crocheting and knitting - I really needed something portable to take to all my various taxi trips with my son. It's hard to bead on the go! Anyway, we will always share patterns or whatever. In fact I just made a telephone "cozy" that I need to take a pic of. (You know you're really bad off when you are knitting socks for your cell phone!)
